The San Angelo City Council is looking at tax credits for affordable housing developments, according to Concho Valley Homepage.

The proposed apartments would be located on Arden Road and Lutheran Way.

City officials told the media outlet that creating more affordable housing options for families in San Angelo was an important consideration when approving the idea.

San Angelo Mayor Tom Thompson said that the issue has reached the highest levels of government, and that even President Donald J. Trump was concerned, as was much of the nation, in dealing with the affordable housing crisis.

One affordable housing project has already received state approval, according to the media outlet.
